Hi my name is Dawn McCloskey, I’m the Home School Community Liaison (HSCL) in Ó
Fiaich College My role is to support you the parent to improve your child’s attendance and
help remove any potential barriers in their path to education
My role involves visiting you in your home and supporting you in any way I can and acting as
a form of communication between school and home. I can accompany you to school
meetings as a parent advocate and support you in any decision making regarding your
child’s education.
Within the school I work closely with our school personnel and supports which includes the
Principal, Deputy Principals, Year Heads, BFL Teacher and School Completion. I am a
member of The Pastoral Care Team and work closely with the other members of this team to
help resolve any issues your child may be experiencing within the education system.
I also work closely with community organisations such as Family Support, Juvenile Liaison
Officer, Child and Family Support Network, TUSLA, St Vincent de Paul, CAMHS and
Women’s Aid.
I arrange the Parents Association meetings in Ó Fiaich College and would encourage any
parents who would like to be involved to contact me directly.

Art at O Fiaich College
The Art Department at O Fiaich College aims to help and encourage each pupil to develop as an individual with the skills and confidence to explore their own unique imagination and creativity. Both at Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate Art we aim to foster a lifelong appreciation of art and visual culture through practical art making and creativity and through the study of Art History from the past and todays world.
Overall we have a very practical approach to our subject, building strong personal connections and subject knowledge with a variety of media. With fantastic facilities this allows our students to have access to a wide range of Art, Craft and Design, allowing creativity in a friendly safe environment with a wide range of opportunities for students to discover their full potential in this subject.
