Special Educational Needs

SEN – Sensory Room

We are very excited to celebrate the opening of our new sensory room at Ó Fiaich College. This vibrant and calming space is a wonderful addition to our school, designed to provide a safe haven for students to explore their senses and develop important coping skills. With its carefully selected tools and resources, the sensory room will support our students’ emotional well-being and learning, allowing them to unwind, recharge, and thrive. We look forward to seeing how this innovative space enhances the educational experience for all our students, fostering inclusivity and understanding
within our school.

SEN – Learning Support

Ó Fiaich College has a well-resourced and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Department. While our mainstream teachers hold responsibility for the learning and teaching within the classroom, the SEN Coordinator and the SEN team have additional resources available to offer more specialised support where needed. This support can be offered on an individual, small group or whole-class basis.
This comprehensive support provided by teachers and SNAs, is offered to pupils who have identified learning needs. Parents/guardians receive reports on their child’s progress and participation in this support as well as being offered parent’s classes to help best support their students at home.
